A Picture-Perfect Venue

Hatch House’s dramatic setting is suitable and adaptable as a venue for holding a variety of events: wedding celebrations, garden or summer parties and even theatrical productions.

We can help you throw anything from a birthday party to a corporate team event, on as grand or modest a scale as you choose. We can give you as much (or as little) assistance as you like in planning your celebration. We also have experience in putting on festivals, outdoor theatre and lectures, and host Covent Garden Dance's celebrated ‘Ballet Under the Stars’ every year. We are keen supporters of local enterprise, and we work with excellent local suppliers, including florists, photographers, musicians, signwriters and more.

Open Garden at Hatch House

The much loved annual Open Garden at Hatch House in support of Salisbury Hospice Charity, is a very popular event. It has been held in the gardens of Hatch for several years and grown in popularity with hundreds of visitors of all ages regularly making this a date in their calendar. The support is incredible and in 2025 the Open Garden broke all fund raising records so far, realising a total of £30,000.

Monies raised at Hatch contribute to the invaluable services provided by Salisbury Hospice, which offers compassionate care and support to patients and their families in the local community.

The stunning 17th-century walled Dutch garden and sweeping views over the Vale of Wardour provide a perfect backdrop to a day filled with community spirit. One of the highlights and always the biggest draw is the vintage clothes tent that Lady Rumbold curates with Virginia Fairhurst and Joanna Jacobs. It takes months of organisation but there are incredible finds and bargains for treasure hunters.  “To be frank, my charitable activity is just a continuation of the fun I had as a child with my dressing up box, which contained my beautiful mother’s romantic and chic cast-off hats and clothes,” Holly Rumbold.

Sir Henry and Lady Rumbold are supported by the dedicated Tisbury Fundraising Committee, and this year, for the first time, generous support from sponsors, Bloomfield & Associates Ltd and Farnfields Solicitors.

“Special recognition goes to Lady Rumbold, the true heartbeat of the event, her family, and her dedicated team of helpers for the countless hours spent preparing the sale items. We also would like to thank the many volunteers whose hard work ensures the event runs smoothly”, Tamsin Murley, Community Fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity

“Everybody who works so hard, so many hours of effort but so much fun! Together, we are “doing well by doing good,” Holly.
