Ballet at Hatch House - The Covent Garden Dance Company
Ballet
evenings were first given at Hatch House in the summer of 2010. The dream-like C17th walled Dutch garden in its pastoral setting turned out to be a wild and exciting theatre for ballet performances with the backdrop of Hatch House itself.
Matt Brady, The Covent Garden Dance Company’s director, whose imagination devised this grand plan, brings ballet stars from all over the world and have included; Carlos Acosta, Mara Galeazzi (international artist and former Principal The Royal Ballet), Marlon Dino, Vadim Muntagirov, Daria Klimentova, Elena Glurjidze, Laura Morera, Silvia Azzoni, Oleksandr Ryabko, Vitali Safronkine, Camille Aublé, Lauren Cuthbertson, Ksenia Ovsyanick, Lucia Lacarra, Fumi Kaneko and Xander Parish.
The stage is set within the entire Dutch Garden, which is completely covered to create a stunning dinner theatre. The audience is seated at tables and served dinner in between the ballet performances. There is always a mix of styles from the exquisitely classical to the fabulously contemporary and as always there will be world premieres of brand new works by the art’s most talented emerging talents. A gourmet hamper supper with paired wines and of course all the ballet performances are included in each ticket. For 2018 the theme was Best of British and 2019 was the 10th Anniversary. After a sensational return in 2022 Ballet Under the Stars, will, for the first time, be over four nights in 2023 - 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th July and the theme is 1920's Paris from the bar to the cocktails. Present and future stars from the Paris Opera Ballet will be at Hatch this summer.
It's a truly magical, unique and spectacular evening.
